German Shepherd Defense Academy helps you train your house dog into a dog that will defend your house.

German Shepherd Defense Academy CLASSES

We offer 3 differenct levels of obedience and defense training. Our classes are run by seasoned instructors. Contact us for more information.

COMPLIANCE LEVEL 1

Compliance level 1 starts between 2 and 4 months of age. We will focus on imprinting and socialization.

  1. Name association

  2. Crate training

  3. Introduction to house-training within an indoor environment

  4. Teach that "No" means Stop

  5. Learn to respond to collar and leash

  6. Follow handler on a leash

  7. Single kennel acclimation

  8. Sit on command

  9. Down on command

  10. Come and sit in the front position

  11. Hygiene: bathing, trimming of nails, and ear cleaning

  12. Vehicle familiarization

  13. Drive building - encourage chasing and biting of approved toy

  14. Regular grooming on an elevated table and handling

  15. Introduction to stairs

  16. Exposure to slippery floors

Compliance 1
COMPLIANCE LEVEL 2

Compliance level 2 starts around 3 months of age and focuses on manners and obedience.

  1. Name association

  2. Crate training

  3. Introduction to house-training within an indoor environment

  4. Teach that "No" means Stop

  5. Learn to respond to collar and leash

  6. Follow handler on a leash

  7. Single kennel acclimation

  8. Sit on command

  9. Down on command

  10. Come and sit in the front position

  11. Hygiene: bathing, trimming of nails, and ear cleaning

Compliance 2
COMPLIANCE LEVEL 3

Compliance level 3 starts around 4 months of age. We will focus on boosting performance levels.

  1. Fuss - Heel (Walk on a loose lead in the heel position without pulling.)

  2. Automatically sits when the handler stops

  3. Finish - get into the heel position from the here front Sit

  4. Increasing duration of Sit and Down Stays

  5. Immediate response to the word “No”

  6. Extending the area of influence the handler has on the dog from 6 feet to 30 feet with the use of a long line

  7. Proofing already learned behaviors around distractions (dogs, people, vehicles, in home, and office environment)

  8. Promotion of off-lease response to commands creating positive based

Compliance 3
A trained dog is a confident dog. Trained dogs are confident, non-fear-based dogs.
